Chicoteando

chicote-entrada

Today I want to share with you a must address in Madrid: the Museo Chicote (Gran Via 12, Madrid) The Bar “Chicote” was created in 1931 by Perico Chicote, barman at the Ritz Hotel, it was the first cocktail bar in Madrid;  83 years later it remains a benchmark of the capital nightlife.
Now it continues to make history and for the first time they have started to serve food, with a menu with tasty and original dishes, perfect for “chicotear” -Shake something vividly, as with a whip.
We started with a “creamy croquettes of Iberico pork cheek” and red prawn carpaccio with truffled eggs and macadamia nut” Alexis, Raul and Aaron, recommended us to fusion it with the cocktail “Moscow mule” (Vodka, Ginger Beer, Lime Juice and Sugar) and we understood the true meaning of “chicotear” =)
Our favorite dishes were the “oxtail burger on stout brioche and special sauce with crispy potato” the meat is cooked for six hours to acquire a unique texture; and “wild sea bass tartare with caviar sauce, pistachios and toast payesas”
And for dessert? Mascarpone Panna Cotta infused in red fruits, accompanied by one of their new cocktails, the “Caspian”.
It is open Monday to Saturday from five in the afternoon until three o’clock in the morning,  and Sundays with a special Brunch with a Dj session to begin the week with energy.
