Oktoberfest – Part II

Good Morning! Today I am going to share with you the second part of our amazing trip to Oktoberfest in Munich.
Besides drinking beer, we also attended the traditional costumes parade, celebrated on the first Sunday of the Oktoberfest since 1835. More than 8,000 participants were dressed with historical costumes accompanied by 40 carefully decorated horse carriages parading a distance of 7km (4.3 miles)
After restocking our energy with Bratwurst (sausage) Schweinshaxe mit Sauerkraut (pork knuckle), pretzels, lebkuchenherzen, gingerbread heart-shaped cookies, and the delicious skewers of fruit dipped in chocolate, I loved visiting the Historical Oktoberfest called “Oide Wiesn “(which means old fair in Bavarian) where we find historical tents and attractions such as the” Humoristisches Velodrom “a velodrome with peculiar bicycle: some pedaling with the handlebars, others have offset wheels …
Throughout the day the tents are super lively. Influence of the alcohol or not, for a few days, everyone has a smile on his face, dances, sings, and your bench neighbor who you just met, is your best friend.
Oktoberfest, I don’t say goodbye, I say “” Auf Wiedersehen “(until we meet again) – and hopefully it will be soon =)
