Estas Navidades estuve unos días en Madrid visitando a mi familia y aproveché la ocasión para ver la exposición “Jean Paul Gaultier: de la calle a las estrellas” , una retrospectiva de la trayectoria del gran diseñador, y gran amante de mi cultura española. A través de 125 conjuntos de alta costura y prêt-à-porter, fotografías, videos y bocetos, viajamos hacia los universos de Gaultier: los marineros, las sirenas, las vírgenes y la supremacía de la ropa interior femenina, como metáfora del poder de la mujer, así como la influencia de diferentes culturas y la investigación de tejidos inusuales. Con sus diseños vanguardistas, desde un principio rompió los códigos establecidos y colección tras colección nos sigue transportando a su particular universo.
Después de la visita en la Fundación Mapfre, aprovechamos para disfrutar de la iluminación navideña de Madrid (la Puerta de Alcalá está preciosa en estas fechas) y fuimos a un restaurante que me encanta… Pizza Jardin! Además de unos deliciosos mejillones Portofino y una ensalada de cangrejo, aquí tienen mi pizza favorita de todo el mundo… La Pizza Hawaiana, con queso, piña y… mandarina! Realmente deliciosa! Os deseo una estupenda semana =)

This exhibition must have been amazing to experience in person! His designs are unlike any other designer. I was fortunate to acquire a skirt and top from one of his past collections and they will always be a couple of my favorite pieces 🙂
